Hey there! As a supplier of 65W GaN wall chargers, I often get asked if our chargers can be used with MacBooks. So, I thought I'd dive into this topic and give you all the details.
First off, let's talk about what a 65W GaN wall charger is. GaN stands for Gallium Nitride, which is a semiconductor material. Chargers made with GaN technology are more efficient than traditional chargers. They can convert electrical energy into charging power with less loss, which means they generate less heat. This efficiency also allows the chargers to be smaller and lighter while still delivering high - power output, like 65W.
Now, can a 65W GaN wall charger be used with a MacBook? The short answer is: it depends. Apple offers different power adapters for its MacBook models. For example, some of the older MacBook Air models came with a 30W or 35W charger, while the newer MacBook Pro models often come with a 61W or 96W charger.
Most modern MacBooks, including the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, support USB - C charging. Our 65W GaN wall charger uses the USB - C interface, which is a big plus. The USB - C standard allows for power delivery (PD), and many MacBooks are PD - compatible. This means that in theory, as long as the charger and the MacBook can communicate properly over the USB - C PD protocol, the charger can supply power to the MacBook.
If you have a MacBook that requires less than 65W of power, like the older MacBook Air models, our 65W GaN charger will work just fine. It will automatically adjust the power output to match what the MacBook needs. For instance, if your MacBook only needs 30W to charge, the charger will supply 30W, preventing over - charging and keeping your device safe.
However, if you have a high - end MacBook Pro model that typically comes with a 96W charger, using a 65W charger might still charge your MacBook, but it will take longer. The MacBook might not be able to charge at its maximum speed because the charger can't supply the full 96W of power that the laptop is capable of accepting. But hey, it's still better than having no charger at all, especially when you're on the go.
One of the great things about our 65W GaN wall charger is its versatility. It's not just for MacBooks. You can use it to charge your iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and even some tablets. It's like having a one - stop - shop for all your charging needs.
Let me also tell you about some of the features of our charger. It has multiple safety protections. We've built in over - current protection, over - voltage protection, and short - circuit protection. This means that no matter what device you're charging, you can rest assured that it's safe from any electrical mishaps.
The charger is also very compact and lightweight. It's perfect for traveling. You can easily throw it in your backpack or carry - on luggage without adding much bulk. And because of the GaN technology, it doesn't get as hot as traditional chargers, which is a huge advantage, especially if you're using it for long periods.
Now, I want to mention some of our other charging products. We also have a Transparent Dual - Port Fast Travel Charger for Mobile. This charger is great if you need to charge multiple devices at the same time. It has two ports, so you can charge your MacBook and your phone simultaneously.
If you're looking for a more basic charger, we have the 5V 2A USB Power Adapter. This is a simple yet reliable charger that can be used for smaller devices like earbuds or older smartphones.
And for those of you who travel to the USA, we offer the ETL Certified Portable Travel Adaptor for USA. It's certified and designed to work with the electrical outlets in the United States, ensuring that you can charge your devices no matter where you are.
In conclusion, our 65W GaN wall charger can be a great option for charging your MacBook. It offers a good balance of power, safety, and portability. Whether you're at home, in the office, or on the road, it can keep your MacBook and other devices powered up.
